Travelling to Guildford
By air: the nearest airports are Gatwick (35 miles, direct rail) and Heathrow (26 miles, flightlink bus/rail via Woking).
By rail: Guildford station is a 10/15 min walk away with direct links to Reading and London Waterloo.
By road: from the M25, take the A3 towards Guildford/Portsmouth and leave at the Cathedral/University exit.
Parking: you can pay & display in car park 1 by the Gatehouse as you enter the University from the main entrance for staff, students and visitors. Day tickets cost £6.50, but note that machines will not accept credit, debit cards or £2 coins, and do not give change. There is a nearby public car park off Guildford Park Avenue, and there is a Park & Ride scheme in operation. A limited number of car parking permits are also available in advance, on request. There is motorcycle parking just off the Spine Road, beside BB block, which is free.
Accommodation: suggested places to try include the Holiday Inn across the A3, the YMCA towards the city centre, and the Travel Lodge. You might also try the borough concil's accommodation list.
