I am a Lecturer in Communications at the Centre for Communication Systems
Research of the University of
Surrey, UK.
Current
Research:
I am currently working on the following projects
- University of Surrey coordinator
for European Commission funded Framework Programme FP7 project:
EARTH – Energy Aware Radio neTwork tecHnologies (http://www.ict-earth.eu).
Funding: €14.8m – University of Surrey circa €1m
- Leading the UK team
for research theme (Self Organising Networks): research is done under the
umbrella of India-UK Advanced Technology Centre funded by Engineering and
Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) – UK.
- Leading
University of Surrey research on
an air interface technique (Low Density Spreading) funded by Huawei China.
Funding: University of Surrey circa £90k.
- Principal
investigator for a cross disciplinary research project funded by EPSRC-UK:
REDUCE (Reshaping Energy Demand of Users by Communication technology and
Economic incentives). The project aims to reduce the energy demand of end
users by persuasive techniques and sensor based energy usage and context
monitoring network.
Funding: University of Surrey circa £1.2m
I am also involved in several other project bids for the
upcoming FP7 projects and proposals for the UK funded research projects.
I have successfully completed my contributions to the
following projects in past:
- An elective project
of Mobile Virtual Centre of Excellence (MVCE): Fundamental Capacity Limits
of Wireless Cellular Networks. The main focus of the work was to
investigate information theoretic capacity limits for the cellular
networks.
- European Commission
funded Framework Programme FP7 project:
ROCKET - Reconfigurable OFDMA based cooperative Networks
enabled by agile spectrum reuse (http://www.ict-rocket.eu).
Teaching and Demonstration:
I
am an associate fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA). Have completed
the accredited course “Preparing to Teach” run by Centre for Educational
and Academic Development (CEAD) at University of Surrey. Currently I am
striving for the fellowship of HEA and I am enrolled on a post graduate diploma
course PGCAP. Following is a brief summary of my teaching responsibilities.
