Hi, I’m Jonathan Pincas, a research student in the phonetic sciences, working here at CVSSP at the University of Surrey. My background is in linguistics and phonetics and my interests centre on acoustic and perceptual phonetics, particularly relating to fricatives.
I’m currently working on the acoustic aspects of the interaction of voicing and frication speech sources where they overlap in fricative sounds. A brief summary is available by following the above link.
My supervisor is Dr Philip Jackson, an electronic engineer, speech scientist and lecturer in the Department of Electronic Engineering. Feel free to browse my recent posters and publications and to get in touch with any questions or feedback.
