Here I include information about my PhD students and their topics, including opportunities for future students. I also include information on MSc and final year undergraduate projects.
Current PhD students
I currently supervise the following PhD students, in reverse chronological order of their starting date with me. Most of them are still registered at Surrey as they are (apart from Yu Guo) quite close to completing their PhDs.
- Daphne Tuncer started her PhD at UCL in November 2009. She is looking at self-management aspects for continuous network optimisation, focusing at quality of service and resilience aspects.
- Joao Araujo started his PhD at UCL in October 2008. He is looking at congestion control and traffic engineering, taking also into account economic models between network and service providers.
- Spiros Spirou is a part-time PhD student who works as a research engineer in Intracom, Greece. He is looking at future content networks and is collaborating with us in the COMET project.
- Chaojiong Wang started his PhD in October 2007. He is looking at cooperative traffic engineering between peer-to-peer systems and the underlying networks.
- Yu Guo started her PhD in October 2006. She is looking at parallel-plane IP virtual network separation and management.
I am always looking for good PhD students and in particular now that I have joineded UCL as I am looking for new PhD students.
You may send your CV initially to me in order to advise you for the possibility
of funding before applying formally.
A more plausible path to obtain a scholarship for a PhD is by doing first a MSc and doing very well / getting a distinction; this increases significantly the chances of a scholarship.
